One of the benefits of having their own property is the opportunity of praying in the beautiful outdoors. The Sisters envisioned walking paths on which to pray the Rosary, a grotto of Our Lady, and outdoor Stations of the Cross. Little did they know that their dream would be realized so soon with the help of many friends of IHM.
The story begins with seminarian, Clay Kimbro. Clay, a good friend of IHM, heard of a set of outdoor stations that was available; he immediately thought of the IHM Sisters and their land in Colwich, Kansas. The Sisters were delighted to be able to take the Stations as they had been in use at a seminary. Next, Matthew Freese, a new friend of IHM, was in need of an Eagle Scout project and heard of the outdoor Stations of the Cross. He, with the help of Fr. Ken Schuckman, took on this project. The result: the Sisters have a beautiful set of Stations of the Cross.
